He explained that short-term caffeine intake can temporarily raise blood pressure, heart rate, and blood glucose levels, particularly in those who rarely consume caffeine. The statement explicitly distinguishes regular brewed coffee from highly concentrated caffeine products like energy drinks and energy shots. Excessive caffeine from energy drinks has been shown to considerably increase the risk of high blood pressure and arrhythmias, unlike moderate coffee consumption which does not carry such risks.
